IAG traffic flat in March despite continued Iberia weakness

International Airlines Group (IAG) has posted a 0.1% year-on-year increase in RPK traffic for March.

The total number of passengers carried by the group rose by 3.5% year-on-year to 4.37 million.

Capacity fell 1.1% at the parent company of British Airways and Iberia, while passenger load factor grew by 0.9 percentage points to 79.7%.

The group's premium traffic decreased 2%, while non-premium traffic rose by 0.5%.

Iberia recorded a 14.9% decrease in passenger traffic during the month against a capacity fall of 12.9%, while freight traffic declined 25.7%.

BA posted a 6.3% rise in passenger traffic and 3.6% growth in capacity. Freight traffic was down 3.3%.
