IAG traffic up 3.2% in October

International Airlines Group (IAG) posted a 3.2% increase in passenger traffic in October when compared with the same month in 2011.

Total passenger numbers for the group rose by 7.5% year-on-year to 4.9 million

Capacity grew 2.7% at the parent company of British Airways and Iberia, while load factor increased by 0.4 percentage points to 80.5%.

The group's premium and non-premium traffic for October both grew by 3.2% year-on-year.

BA recorded a 6.2% increase in passenger traffic during the month against capacity growth of 4.1%, while freight traffic grew 4%.

Iberia posted a 3.7% decrease in passenger traffic and a 0.7% decrease in capacity, with freight traffic falling by 14.8%.
