International Airlines Group (IAG) posted a 5.1% increase in passenger traffic in September compared with the same month in 2011.
Capacity grew 3.6% at the parent company of British Airways and Iberia, while load factor increased by 1.2 percentage points to 84% .
Group premium traffic for August grew by 8% year-on-year, alongside 4.6% growth in non-premium traffic.
BA recorded a 7.6% increase in passenger traffic during the month against capacity growth of 5.7%, while freight traffic grew 6 %.
Iberia posted a 0.8% decrease in passenger traffic and a 1.3% decrease in capacity, with freight traffic falling by 15.3%.
Low-cost subsidiary Iberia Express has carried 1.5 million passengers since its launch six months ago, IAG says.
