Israel Aircraft Industries’ (IAI) Bedek division has won the $150 million contract to convert 12 ex-Delta Air Lines Boeing 767-200s from passenger to cargo configuration for US carrier ABX Air, defeating a bid from Boeing and Italy’s Aeronavali.

The first 767 will arrive at Bedek’s facility at Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion airport before the end of the year. Six or seven more will arrive next year, and the rest in 2007.
