IATA has appointed Rodolfo Quevedo as its new director of safety, effective 2 September.

Quevedo will head up the association’s safety and flight operations team in Montreal, taking responsibility for cabin safety, safety management systems, and global aviation data management.

He previously served as global programmes director for the Flight Safety Foundation, and before that as safety director for North American Airlines.

“Rudy brings over three decades of increasingly senior aviation safety management experience and expertise to IATA,” says Kevin Hiatt, the airline body’s senior vice-president of safety and flight operations.
