Iberia has signed a maintenance contract with Orbest Airlines covering its Airbus A320 and A330 fleets.
Under the terms of the contract, Iberia Maintenance will provide component inspections and repairs at the Iberia Maintenance facilities near Madrid airport for a period of three years.
Iberia says the aircraft components include sensors, audio system control panels, fire extinguishers, flight recorders and radio beacons.
The contract covers disassembly, inspection, repairs, parts replacement, assembly, testing, and certification of replaced components. The contract also gives Orbest access to Iberia's pool of spare parts.
Iberia already conducts line maintenance and major overhauls as well as inspections and repair of CFM56-5B engines for the Palma de Majorca-based carrier.
