Iberia Express launched twice weekly Madrid-Riga flights on 3 July, with the service due to run until 15 September.

The low-cost subsidiary of Spanish flag carrier Iberia - itself a subsidiary of IAG - is the first airline to operate the route, Innovata schedules show.

Iberia Express was launched in March 2012, as part of IAG chief executive Willie Walsh's goal of cutting costs at the mainline Iberia unit.

The no-frills subsidiary operates short-haul European routes and has grown to a fleet size of 11 Airbus A320s - all sourced from Iberia.
