Oneworld carrier Iberia will this summer launch nonstop service from Barcelona to Sao Paulo in Brazil.
The carrier will operate the route twice-weekly using Airbus A340-300 aircraft.
According to schedules in Innovata, no other airline currently operates nonstop flights on the city pair. However, Singapore Airlines this month plans to begin thrice-weekly flights from Singapore to Sao Paulo via Barcelona. It will codeshare with Star Alliance partner Spanair on the route.
Iberia's Sao Paulo flights will connect to onward services from Barcelona operated by Air Nostrum and Vueling.
