ICAO has awarded observer status to the International Federation of Air Traffic Safety Electronics Associations (IFATSEA).

IFATSEA sent a request to ICAO in April 2010 to gain the status, and the approval is a reflection of the relationship the two organisations have built over the last decade.

In the first meeting of ICAO's 191st session in November 2010, IFATSEA was included on the "list of international organizations that may be invited to attend suitable ICAO meetings".

IFATSEA was founded in 1972 under the leadership of ICAO, and its main tasks are promoting safety and efficiency in international air navigation.
