Chinese operating lessor ICBC Financial Leasing is seeking US Export-Import Bank approval to finance new Boeing deliveries.

The lessor has submitted an application with the Ex-Im Bank – the board of which is due to meet shortly – for a loan guarantee for Boeing jets to be operated by Garuda Indonesia.

Fligthglobal’s Ascend Online database shows that ICBC Financial Leasing does not have any Boeing aircraft on backlog.

Garuda is taking delivery of 11 new Boeing aircraft through December. Three 737-800s and two 777-300ERs remain unfinanced, the database shows.
