Icelandair will next year add Denver in Colorado to its network as part of a route expansion plan that will increase the number of flights operated by the carrier by 13% year-over-year in 2012.

The airline plans to serve Denver four times a week. In addition, it will increase frequencies on existing services to Washington DC and Seattle.

Frequencies will also be increased to all the Nordic capitals, as well as Trondheim, Stavanger and Bergen in Norway, and Billund in Denmark.

Icelandair will boost capacity to Amsterdam, Brussels, Glasgow, Manchester, Munich and Paris in 2012.

The airline expects to carry 2 million passengers next year.
