ILFC closes 296 lease deals in 2011

Operating lessor International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC), a wholly owned subsidiary of American International Group, completed 296 lease transactions last year.

These lease transactions included extensions and placements from its existing fleet, as well as sale-leaseback transactions covering 20 aircraft valued at $800 million, said ILFC.

Last month, the lessor raised $500 million through a 10-year senior notes offering, which priced at 8.625%, to fund aircraft and for general corporate purposes.

Participants included Citi, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Barclays, Bank of America, JP Morgan, Macquarie, Royal Bank of Canada and UBS, said sources involved on the transaction.
