India's domestic airlines carried 3.9 million passengers in February, up 14% year-on-year.

Jet Airways and its subsidiary JetLite had the biggest share of the market with one million passengers and a market share of 26%, says India's ministry of civil aviation.

Kingfisher Airlines was second with 877,000 passengers (23%), it adds.

They were followed by Air India with 663,000 passengers (17%), IndiGo with 577,000 (15%), SpiceJet with 465,000 (12%), GoAir with 211,000 (6%) and Paramount Airways with 62,000 (2%).

In terms of passenger load factors, Air India posted 72%, Jet 75%, JetLite 79.5%, Kingfisher 75.9%, SpiceJet 81.3%, Paramount 85.2%, GoAir 78% and IndiGo 83%.
