Indian carrier Jet Airways has confirmed that Thai Airways International has signed a deal to lease three of the Indian carrier's Boeing 777s.
Under the agreement, Thai will dry-lease three 777-300ERs for three years with immediate effect, says Jet CEO Nikos Kardassis.
He says Jet is leasing some widebodies in an effort to match capacity with current demand, and return to profitability.
Even though it is doing this, the Indian carrier is still launching new services.
It is launching a daily non-stop service on 14 April from Mumbai to Johannesburg and a daily service on the Thiruvananthapuram-Dammam route, says Jet. Dammam is a major city in eastern Saudi Arabia.
