Indian airlines carried 4.56 million domestic passengers in the month of October, a 13.4% increase compared with 4.02 million in September 2012.
IndiGo had the largest market share of 27.8%, while SpiceJet captured a market share of 19.1%. Jet Airways, including its subsidiary JetLite, had a market share of 24.7%, while Air India and Go Air had market shares of 20.8% and 7.6% respectively.
Kingfisher Airlines did not operate any flights during the month.
IndiGo carried 1.3 million passengers, while Air India and SpiceJet carried 949,000 and 869,000 passengers respectively.
The number of passengers carried by these domestic airlines for the ten-month period ended 31 October declined by 2.5% to 48.4 million from 49.6 million a year ago.
