Indian domestic passenger numbers decline 2.7% in August

Indian scheduled airlines carried 3.99 million passengers in August, down 2.7% from the 4.1 million they reported in July.

Jet Airways and its subsidiary JetLite had the largest market share of 27%, or 1.078 million. Kingfisher Airlines had 20% (797,000), Air India had 18.3% (730,000), IndiGo had 16.4% (656,000), SpiceJet had 12.6% (502,000), and GoAir had 5.7% (226,000).

In terms of seat factor, Air India reported 65.5%, Jet Airways 70.4%, JetLite 73.2%, Kingfisher 80.9%, SpiceJet 70.3%, GoAir 72% and IndiGo 74.5%.
