Indian domestic traffic increases 22% in the first half

Indian domestic carriers collectively posted a 22% increase in traffic in the first half and for the month of June the increase was 21%.

The Indian ministry of civil aviation says in the first half domestic traffic rose 22% to 21.1 million and for the month of June traffic was up 21% to 4.6 million.

Kingfisher Airlines had the highest market share with 21% followed by Jet Airways 18.7%, Air India/Indian Airlines 16.9% and IndiGo 16.4%.

Even though Kingfisher had the highest market share, IndiGo had the highest passenger load factor with 90.7%. Air India/Indian Airlines had the lowest with 72.3%, it adds.
