Indian domestic traffic up 14% in July

Indian domestic carriers reported a 14% increase in passenger numbers to 4.2 million in July, compared with a year ago.

Jet Airways and its subsidiary JetLite dominated the market with a combined 26.6% market share and 1.1 million passengers.

Kingfisher Airlines was second with a market share of 20% and 815,000 passengers. It was followed by Air India with 17.3% (708,000), IndiGo with 16.9% (691,000), SpiceJet with 13.2% (540,000), GoAir with 5.6% (228,000) and Paramount Airways with 0.3% (12,000).

In terms of seat factor, Paramount posted 86.9%, IndiGo 80.2%, Kingfisher 79.3%, SpiceJet 76.8%, JetLite 76.6%, Jet Airways 73.8%, GoAir 71.3% and Air India 62.5%.
