Indian start-up Quikjet Cargo has signed a three-year Boeing 737 component support agreement with SR Technics.

Bangalore-based Quikjet, which is soon to launch, is planning to operate a fleet of three 737-300s.

Under the deal, which is effective immediately, SR Technics says it will provide the new carrier’s fleet with component management and maintenance. Quikjet will also have access to the maintenance firm’s Bangalore and Chennai stock.

SR Technics executive VP for component Services Sam Gorman says: “India is a key growth market for SR Technics and this agreement will help further strengthen our presence in this region.”

Last December Ramesh outlined Quikjet’s plans to launch in early 2008 using 737-300 and 757 freighter aircraft.
