Low-cost carrier IndiGo has become the first airline in India to receive an Airbus 320 aircraft equipped with sharklet wing-tips.

Airbus says that all future A320 aircraft deliveries to the airline will be fitted with the sharklet wing-tip devices.

IndiGo's president, Aditya Ghosh, says: "We already operate one of the world's youngest, most fuel-efficient fleets and our investment in sharklets will help reduce our fuel consumption even further."

The carrier has a fleet of 62 A320s and a cumulative order for 280 A320 family aircraft, including 150 A320neos.
