Indian low-cost carrier IndiGo is launching two new services from Coimbatore.
The airline plans to launch a daily Chennai-Coimbatore service, and a twice-daily New Delhi-Coimbatore service - one of which will be via Chennai - on 30 November. IndiGo operates an all-Airbus A320 fleet.
SpiceJet, the other Indian low-cost carrier, has a thrice-daily New Delhi-Coimbatore service, while Air India has 13 flights a week on the route, according to schedules in Innovata.
On the Chennai-Coimbatore route, SpiceJet has a twice-daily service, Kingfisher Airlines' low-cost operation Kingfisher Red has 14 services a week, and Jet Airways' low cost subsidiary Jet Airways Konnect has 19 services a week.
