Russian and Indonesian authorities have agreed a type certification protocol for the Sukhoi Superjet 100, centred on definition of the validation procedures.

The agreement defines the "scope and order of works" which will result in the Superjet obtaining a type certificate from the Indonesian directorate general of civil aviation, says Sukhoi.

Two carriers - Kartika and Sky Aviation - are in line to receive a total of 42 Superjets, with deliveries to Sky scheduled to begin this year.

The certification process, however, has been interrupted by the investigation into the terrain collision accident in Indonesia involving a prototype Superjet.

Russian regulators granted certification to the aircraft in January 2011 and this was followed in February 2012 by similar approval from the European Aviation Safety Agency. Mexican authorities also validated the type certificate in April.
