Indonesia AirAsia plans to begin a new daily service between Bali Denpasar and Darwin from 23 December.

The low-cost carrier will operate Airbus A320-200s on the flights, it says.

Darwin will be the airline's second Australian destination, after Perth.

Indonesia AirAsia will compete on the route against Jetstar, which operates daily between Bali Denpasar and Darwin.
