An Indonesian BAe 146-200QT belonging to Nusantara Air Charter suffered damage after it caught fire on Wednesday, 8 May 2013, at Wamena airport, in the eastern Papua province.
Ground crew at the airport were unloading fuel oil barrels from the freighter when the incident occurred at 11:44 local time. An official from the country's directorate general of civil aviation told Flightglobal Pro that a fuel oil barrel "fell off the forklift" while unloading, which sparked the fire.
The aircraft had completed a flight from Jayapura to Wamena prior to the incident.
The official adds the aircraft's wings and tail suffered damage in the incident, and there were no loss of lives.
Flightglobal's Ascend Online Fleets database shows that the aircraft was built in 1988. It bears the registration PK-JKC and MSN E2113. The aircraft was bought by Nusantara in May 2009.
