A test launch of a Shorts Missile Systems Starstreak from a US Army McDonnell Douglas AH-64 Apache helicopter in February completed an initial 17-month test programme for the missile. A further two-year programme has already been funded. The US Army, as well as the UK's Army Air Corps, is considering the Starstreak as an air-to-air missile for the AH-64D.
