Russian investigators have identified the Antonov An-24 airframe involved in the fatal ditching accident on the River Ob.

The Interstate Aviation Committee said the aircraft, operated by Angara Airlines, is registered RA-47302.

Flightglobal's ACAS database lists the twin-engined aircraft as a 36-year old example, powered by Ivchenko AI-24 turboprops.

It came down while operating a service between Tomsk and Surgut, after an engine fire. The aircraft's empennage broke off in the accident, and it came to rest part-submerged in shallow water.
