Italy's civil aviation authority has invited airlines to bid to operate a public service obligation (PSO) services from Pisa, Florence and Milan Linate to the island of Elba.

The PSO will run from 30 March 2014 to 29 March 2017 and airlines have 90 days from today to submit a bid to Enac.

The routes from Florence and Pisa are currently unassigned after being unsuccessfully tendered in August 2011.

Flights from Milan to Elba were periodically operated by ElbaFly until the carrier ceased operations in 2012.

There are currently no scheduled services between Elba and mainland Italy.
