Japan Airlines domestic passenger traffic down 0.6% in September

Japan Airlines (JAL) has posted a 0.6% year-on-year decline in domestic passenger traffic, as measured in RPKs, for September.

The carrier's domestic capacity, as measured in ASKs, increased by 3%, while its domestic passenger numbers increased by 0.9% to 2.67 million. Its domestic load factor was 68%.

JAL's international passenger traffic grew by 8.2% year on year.

Its international capacity, as measured in ASKs, rose by 2.8%, while its international passenger numbers increased by 4.2% to 634,000. Its international load factor was 79.4%.

The volume of international cargo carried climbed by 12.9% to 21,100, while the amount of mail carried fell by 10.7% to 2,030t.

The carrier's total cargo carried on domestic routes increased by 2.7% to 34,000t and total mail carried decreased by 3.4% to 2,040t.
