Japan Airlines domestic traffic up 2% in June

Japan Airlines (JAL) has posted a 2.2% year-on-year increase in domestic passenger traffic, as measured in RPKs, for June.

The carrier's domestic capacity, as measured in ASKs, rose by 6.2%, while its domestic passenger numbers went up by 4% to 2.48 million. The domestic load factor stood at 58.4%.

JAL's international passenger traffic grew by 3.1% and international capacity for the month went up by 3.4% year on year. The airline's international passenger numbers decreased by 0.5% year on year to 616,000. The international load factor was 77%.

The volume of international cargo carried increased by 3.9% to 21,700t, while the amount of mail carried grew by 21% to 2,300t.

The carrier's total cargo carried on domestic routes increased by 2.5% to 30,800t and total mail carried rose by 2.6% to 2,400t.
