Japan Airlines (JAL) will begin codesharing with Japanese regional carrier Hokkaido Air System starting July.

JAL will place its code on services operated by Hokkaido Air System on routes from Hakodate to Okushiri, and from Sapporo Okadama to Kushiro, Hakodate, Rishiri and Misawa, it says.

Hokkaido Air System is based at Sapporo's Okadama airport, with JAL holding a 14.5% stake in the airline, according to information found on its website.

Data from Flightglobal Pro shows that the regional carrier operates a fleet of three Saab 340B turboprops.
