Japanese low-cost carrier Peach Aviation will launch a daily Okinawa-Taipei Taoyuan service on 20 September.

The carrier will use Airbus A320 aircraft on the route.

"This route service has been made possible through the full support that we have received from Okinawa prefecture, the relevant ministries, and the people of Okinawa. The start of this service will not only make travelling from Okinawa to Taiwan easy, it can also be expected to boost the number of customers that visit Okinawa from Taiwan," says Peach's chief executive Shinichi Inoue.

"Furthermore, we will establish Naha airport as our second hub after [Osaka] Kansai airport."

Innovata schedules show that the airline will compete with Taiwan's China Airlines and TransAsia Airways on the route.
