Japanese carrier Skymark Airlines plans to launch a thrice daily Okinawa-Ishigaki service on 20 April.

The airline will also end its services from Osaka Kansai to Sapporo and Okinawa starting 31 March, attributing the decision to intense competition from other airlines, says Skymark.

Innovata Schedules show that it operates thrice daily services on the two routes and competes with carriers such as All Nippon Airways and Peach Aviation.

Ishigaki is in the southern Okinawa prefecture.
