Jazeera Airways says it will take some time to replace departed chief executive officer Stefan Pichler but is in "no rush right now".

"Looking for the right chief executive officer will take some time for Jazeera. Stefan was with us for four years. He is heading back home contractually," says Marwan Boodai, Jazeera Airways Group's chairman in a conference call.

"Jazeera is a stable airline with a strong management team. It is going to take some time but we are not in a rush right now."

Pichler resigned from his post earlier this month and has been appointed the chief executive officer and managing director of Fiji Airways, effective 1 September.
