Boeing subsidiary Jeppesen has developed a new runway analysis tool allowing operators to access flight information for specific aircraft at worldwide airports.
The new web interface supplies calculations for a specific aircraft for a given runway accounting for specific temperature and wind conditions.
Detailed obstacle information in the departure path of an airport runway and special departure procedures are also included, which pilots could use to avoid obstacles during climb to a required altitude in the event of an engine loss.
Additionally, said Jeppesen, the calculations advise the operator of the maximum takeoff weight for each specific departure.
The new analysis tool is available for use with an onboard performance system or electronic flight bag, said Jeppesen.
In the future Jeppesen plans to include additional capabilities for the runway analysis tool including integration with its flight planning product and weight and balance calculations.
