Boeing's cancellation of two 777 aircraft orders appears to be pinned to India's Jet Airways, after the airline said it converted two 777-300ER aircraft to additional 737-800s.

After posting a $20 million loss to its quarterly earnings on 20 January, Jet Airways announced it had planned to swap its two remaining 777-300ERs on order for seven 737-800s, converting options for an additional ten.

The conversion of the 777s to 737-800s was reflected in Boeing's 12 January order and delivery update.

Boeing declined to comment on the conversion.
