India's Jet Airways has joined the Arab Air Carriers Organisation (AACO) as the first partner airline of the regional airline association.

The partnership will provide the Arab airline members of AACO and Jet Airways "with opportunities of creating synergies" through the various joint projects under AACO, said the association. The projects are based in areas such as fuel management, ground services, safety initiatives and training, it added.

"With our growing presence in the Middle East, an opportunity to partner with AACO is an important one," said Nikos Kardassis, chief executive of Jet Airways.
