Jet Airways Konnect plans to start a daily service between New Delhi and Dehradun in north-west India from 28 March.

It will operate ATR72-500 aircraft on the route, says Jet Airways, the parent of the no-frills carrier.

"Besides being the capital of Uttarakhand and a very popular tourist destination, Dehradun is also one of the country's leading educational centres and as such, there has been growing demand for enhanced air connectivity on this sector," says Jet's CEO Nikos Kardassis.

Jet will compete on the route with Kingfisher Airlines, according to schedules in Flightglobal's Innovata database.
