India's Jet Airways and South African Airways (SAA) have entered a codeshare agreement, effective 18 April.

Under the agreement, Jet Airways will place its code on SAA's flights between Mumbai and Johannesburg and beyond to Cape Town and Durban, while SAA will place its code on the Indian carrier's operations between Mumbai and Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram.

"The additional connectivity between southern Africa and India as a result of the codeshare relationship between Jet Airways and SAA will help strengthen tourism and trade ties between our two countries," says SAA's acting general manager for commercial Manoj Papa.

Innovata schedules show that SAA operates daily services on the Johannesburg-Mumbai route using 222-seat Airbus A330-200s.
