Transaero purchases 13 used Boeing

Transaero Airlines announced plans to purchase a total of 13 used widebody Boeing aircraft in $500 million transactions arranged by remarketing company Midair .

The Russian carrier is acquiring four Boeing 777-200ER (28514, 28523, 28998, 28999) aircraft with Trent 884 engines from Singapore Airlines. All four 1998-vintage aircraft are to be delivered in 2010. CAO understands that Transaero is initially purchasing the four aircraft from Singapore Airlines but through an on-going supply agreement it could take another four aircraft of the type over the next two years.

The Russian carrier is also acquiring nine Boeing 747-400 (26359, 26360, 26362, 27100, 27645, 27646, 27648, 27650) aircraft with CF6-80C2B1F engines from Japan Airlines. All nine aircraft were built between 1998 and 2001 and will deliver through October 2011.

Aeromexico leased a Boeing 737-800 (32359) aircraft with CFM56-7B4 engines from Macquarie AirFinance Leasing for a period of five years. The 2002-vintage aircraft was previously operated by GOL Transporte Aereos.

Aerosur leased a Boeing 737-300 (24366) aircraft with CFM56-3B2 engines from PALS. The 1989-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Varig.

Avianova leased one Airbus A320-200 (1993) aircraft with V2527-A5 engines from Aviation Capital Group. The 2003-vintage aircraft was previously operated by EasyJet.

Armavia leased one Airbus A320-200 (772) aircraft with CFM56-5B4/P engines from the CIT Group. The 1998-vintage aircraft was previously operated by China Eastern Airlines.

Aerolineas Argentinas leased an Airbus A340-300 (94) aircraft with CFM56-5C3F engines from AWAS. The 1995-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Air Mauritius.

Aerosvit Airlines leased a Boeing 737-400 (24903) aircraft with CFM56-3C1 engines from First Greenwich Kahala. The aircraft was built in 1991.

CanJet Airlines subleased a Boeing 737-800 (27978) aircraft with CFM56-7B27 engines from TUI Fly. The 2000-vintage aircraft was previously operated by travel Service Hungary.

Corendon Air leased a Boeing 737-800 (29120) aircraft with CFM56-7B27 engines from Joachim Hunold & Co. The 1999-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Air Berlin.

IsrAir wetleased a Boeing 737-400 (27826) aircraft with CFM56-3C1 engines from Bremenfly. The 1995-vintage ex- Futura Airways International aircraft is leased by Bremenfly from Constitution Aircraft Leasing.

Jetlink Express leased a Bombardier CRJ-200 LR (7025) aircraft with CF34-3A1 engines from First Greenwich Kahala. The 1993-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Alma de Mexico. Jetlink Express now operates four CRJs on lease from First Greenwich Kahala.

JT Power acquired an Airbus A310-300 (680) aircraft with PW4152 engines from Pennar Aviation. The 1993-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Air India.

LAN Airlines transferred a Boeing 767-300ER (35698) aircraft with CF6-80C2B7F engines to LAN Ecuador. The 2008-vintage aircraft was operated by LAN Airlines since new.

Mint Airways leased a Boeing 757-200 (24544) aircraft with RB211-535E4 engines from Triton Aviation. The 1990-vintage aircraft was last operated by Ryan International Airlines.

Nordstar leased a Boeing 737-800 (27978) aircraft with CFM56-7B27 engines from Nomura Babcock & Brown Leasing. The 1998-vintage aircraft was previously operated by TUI Fly.

SBA Airlines subleased a Boeing 757-200 (24760) aircraft with RB211-535E4 engines from Icelandair. The 1990-vintage aircraft is leased by Icelandair from the CIT Group.

Sideral Air Cargo acquired a Boeing 737-300 (24060) aircraft with CFM56-3B2 engines for cargo conversion. The 1988-vintage aircraft was last operated as a passenger aircraft by US Airways.

South African Airways extended the leases of six Boeing 737-800 (28828, 28829, 28830, 29248, 29249, 30006) aircraft with CFM56-7B27 engines with Macquarie AirFinance Leasing for a period of six years. The 2000-vintage aircraft fleet has been operated by South African Airways since new.

Thomas Cook Airlines subleased a Boeing 757-200ER (30233) aircraft with RB211-535E4 engines from Aurela. The 1999-vintage aircraft was previously operated by VIM-Avia.

Travel Service subleased two Airbus A320-200 (310, 311) aircraft with CFM56-5A1 engines from Smartlynx Airlines. The 1992-vintage aircraft were previously operated by LAT Charter and XL Airways France, respectively.

Viking Airlines subleased a Boeing 737-800 (30637) aircraft with CFM56-7B26 engines from Sunwing Airlines. The 2001-vintage aircraft is owned by ILFC.

Vueling leased an Airbus A320-200 (158) aircraft with CFM56-5A1 engines from Iberia. The 1991-vintage aircraft was operated by Iberia since new.
