ANZ closes $75 million 747-400 S&LB transaction
Air New Zealand has closed the sale and lease back of two Rolls-Royce-powered Boeing 747-400s with Global Knafaim Leasing Ltd. The first aircraft, a 1990-vintage 747-400 (24855) is equipped with RB211-524G engines and had been in service with Air New Zealand since new. The second aircraft, a 747-400 (25605) also equipped with RB211-524G engines was built in 1992.
Both aircraft will be leased back for a period of four years, starting 1st August 2008 and Air New Zealand has no options to extend the lease.
In a note to the Tel Aviv stock exchange, Knafaim says the cost of the acquisition of the aircraft is about $75 million.
Aeroflot-Russian Airlines leased a Boeing MD-11BCF (48503) aircraft with CF6-C2D1F engines from Boeing Capital Corp. The airline already leases two aircraft (48502, 48504) from Boeing Capital Corp and has acquired two aircraft (48512, 48513) for freighter conversion.
Air One closed the finance lease transaction of two new Airbus A320-200s (3515, 3532) aircraft with CFM56-5B6/3 engines with HSH Nordbank. Both aircraft are part of a four aircraft finance lease structure with a 12-year tenor.
Aircastle Investment has contracted Israel Aerospace Industries' Bedek Aviation Group to perform cargo conversion on four Boeing 737-400 (29032, 29033, 29034, 29035) aircraft with CFM56-3C1 engines. The four aircraft are currently on lease to Jet Airways. The first two aircraft were built in 1997 while the remaining two aircraft were manufactured in 1998.
Aer Lingus agreed to lease one new Airbus A320-200 aircraft with CFM56-5B4/3 engines from AerVenture. The carrier will take delivery in February 2010.
Bank of America acquired two Airbus A319-100 (3255, 3320) aircraft with CFM56-5B5/P engines from RBS Aviation Capital. Both 2007-vintage aircraft are on lease to Iberia.
Baboo is providing wet-lease capacity for Air France on a hot spare contract with an Embraer 190-100LR aircraft with CF34-10E5A1 engine. The contract is through the end of the summer schedule.
British Airways has agreed to lease four 777-300ER aircraft from GECAS. The carrier also announced the purchase of two aircraft of the type and secured options for four additional 777-300ERs directly with Boeing.
Easyjet has closed the sale and leaseback of two Airbus A320-200 (1715, 1723) aircraft with V2527-A5 engines with Mitsubishi Corp. Both 2002-vintage aircraft, which were previously operated by GB Airways, are leased back through March 2009.
Etihad Airways leased an Airbus A320-200 (3050) aircraft with V2527-A5 engines from MCR Aviation. The 2007-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Indigo.
Fedex purchased a Boeing 757-200 (24330) aircraft with RB211-535E4 engines from Aircastle Investment for freighter conversion. The 1988-vintage aircraft was previously on lease to China Southern Airlines.
Garuda Indonesia Airways leased a Boeing 737-300 (25039) aircraft with CFM56-3B2 engines from AerCap (ALS I). The 1991-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Sundowner.
Gestair leased an Airbus A340-300 (170) aircraft with CFM56-5C4 engines from Bank of America. The 1997-vintage aircraft was previously on a 10-year lease to Air Canada.
Guggenheim Aviation Partners purchased two 1992-vintage Airbus A320-200s (325, 375) aircraft with CFM56-5A3 engines from CIT Aerospace. The first aircraft has a lease attached through June 2006, the second through April 2009.
Investec Global Aircraft Fund acquired a new Boeing 777-300ER (33755) aircraft with GE90-115BL2 engines from EVA Airways through a sale and leaseback transaction. The aircraft is leased for an initial period of 12 years.
Israir leased two Airbus A320-200 (333, 384) aircraft with CFM56-5A1 engines from KJ Aviation through January 2010. The 1992-vintage aircraft was previously operated by LAT Charter.
Jordan Aviation signed an ACMI agreement with Safi Airways to provide a Boeing 737-300 (23630) aircraft with CFM56-3B1 engines. The 1986-vintage aircraft that was last operated by America West Airlines will be based in Kabul and will fly routes between Afghanistan and the Gulf countries.
Juneyao Airlines agreed to lease one new Airbus A320-200 aircraft with CFM56-5B4/3 engines from AerVenture. The carrier will take delivery in April 2010.
Lan Airlines transferred an Airbus A320-200 (1304) aircraft with V2527E-A5 engines to Lan Argentina. The 2000-vintage aircraft has been in operation with Lan Airlines since new.
Lufthansa Cityline transferred one Bombardier CRJ-100LR (7122) aircraft with CF34-3A1 engines to Eurowings. The 1996-vintage aircraft has been operated by Lufthansa Cityline since new.
Mexicana agreed to lease two new Airbus A319-100 aircraft with CFM56-5B4/3 engines from AerVenture. The carrier will take delivery in December 2009, while a second aircraft will be added in March 2010.
Livingston leased an Airbus A321-200 (792) aircraft with V2533-A5 engines from Guggenheim Aviation Fund. The 1998-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Volareb.
Stewart Industries International purchased a Boeing 727-200F (22450) aircraft with JT8D-15A engines from Aircraft Restructuring Trust. The 1981-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Kitty Hawk Air Cargo.
Sky Airlines leased an Airbus A321-200 (811) aircraft with V2533-A5 engines from Guggenheim Aviation Fund. The 1998-vintage aircraft was previously operated by All Nippon Airways.
Swiftair leased a Boeing 737-300SF (23708) aircraft with CFM56-3B1 engines from GECAS. The 1987-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Kitty Hawk Air Cargo.
TACA International Airlines sold a new Airbus A320-200 (3538) aircraft with V2500s to AerCap and leased the aircraft leaseback.
Ural Airlines leased an Airbus A320-200 (203) aircraft with CFM56-5A1 engines from GECAS. The 1991-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Air France.
VTB Leasing acquired one Bombardier CRJ-200ER (7192) aircraft with CF34-3B1 engines from Universal Asset Management. The 1997-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Independence Air.
