Aircastle places ex-Sterling 737NG
Of the seven ex-Sterling aircraft, CAO understands that Aircastle Investment has commitments on six aircraft: Cimber Sterling has leased three aircraft (28009, 28009, 28013), another two are committed to Tunisair (28014, 28015) while one aircraft (29078) is the subject of a letter of intent for lease to Aires Columbia. One aircraft (28010) has yet to be placed.
Aircastle has placed the six Boeing aircraft repossessed from Sterling Airlines at average lease rates of $230,000, which is $70,000 lower than rentals agreed in previous transactions.
ABX Air transferred a Boeing 767-200SF (22224) aircraft with CF6-80A2 engines to Aircraft One LLC. The 1983-vintage aircraft was acquired by Air ABX Air from Delta in late 2006.
Aerosvit Airlines leased a Boeing 737-400 (25262) aircraft with CFM56-3C1 engines from EAST. The 1991-vintage aircraft was previously leased to BRA Transportes Aéreos.
Agroar Carga Aerea wetleased a Boeing 737-300F (24679) aircraft with CFM56-3B2 engines from Swiftair. The 1990-vintage aircraft was previously leased to Estonian Air.
Aires Columbia leased a Boeing 737-700 (29081) aircraft with CFM56-7B24 engines from Pembroke Group. The 1999-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Hamburg International Airlines.
Air Moldova leased an Airbus A320-200 (741) aircraft with V2527-A5 engines from Babcock & Brown. The 1997-vintage aircraft was previously operated by TACA International Airlines.
Aviation Partners leased a 2001-vintage Boeing 757-300 (32810) aircraft with RB211-535E4B engines from Continental Airlines.
AndaluJet leased a second Boeing 737-700 (32684) aircraft with CFM56-7B22 engines from GECAS. The 2006-vintage aircraft was previously operated by SkyEurope Airlines. The first aircraft, MSN 34754, is leased through October 2014.
Blue1 leased two BAe Avro RJ85 (2349, 2350) aircraft with ALF507-1F engines from Cityjet. Skyways Aviation has arranged the dry lease transaction on behalf of Blue1. The first aircraft was delivered earlier this month and the second aircraft is due to follow in April. Cityjet acquired both ex-Mesaba Airlines aircraft from US Bank NA Trustee in 2007.
China Postal leased a Boeing 737-400F (29034) aircraft with CFM56-3C1 engines from Aircastle Investment. The 1998-vintage aircraft was operated as a passenger aircraft by Jet Airways before being converted into a freighter aircraft.
Cirrus International purchased four 1987/89-vintage Airbus A300-600 (411, 414, 546, 553) aircraft with CF6-80C2A2/A3 engines and an 1991-vintage A300-600R (608) with CF6-80C2A5 engines from Lufthansa.
Gulf Air leased an Airbus A320-200 (3706) aircraft with CFM56-5B4/3 engines from GECAS. The aircraft was manufactured in November 2008 and delivered to East Star Airlines.
Etihad Airways leased a new Airbus A330-200 (991) aircraft powered by Trent 772B engines from CIT Aerospace.
Guggenheim Aviation Partners acquired an Airbus A330-200 (230) aircraft with PW4168A engines from a Calyon affiliated entity. The 1998-vintage aircraft is leased to Air Greenland through October 2013. Calyon closed the commercial debt financing and acted as the sole arranger, the sole underwriter and agent.
Iceland Express wetleased a Boeing 757-200 (24292) aircraft with RB211-535E4 engines from Astraeus for a period of six months. The new aircraft will operate for Iceland Express from mid-May 2009 onwards.
Kish Air subleased one 1988-vintage Boeing MD83 (49572) aircraft with JT8D-217A engines and one 1989-vintage Boeing MD83 (49844) aircraft with JT8D-219 engines from Bulgaria Air Charter.
Norwegian Air Shuttle leased two Boeing 737-800 (32655, 32658) aircraft with CFM56-7B24 engines from GECAS. The 2005-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Futura International Airways.
Royal Falcon leased a Boeing 737-400 (27831) aircraft with CFM56-3C1 engines from Defag. The 1994-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Jetairfly.
Silver Air leased a 737-300 (24059) aircraft with CFM56-3B2 engines from AerCo for a period of five years. The 1988-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Adam Air.
SkyEurope Airlines leased two Boeing 737-500 (26700, 26707) aircraft with CFM56-3C1 engines from Avia Asset Management (flyLAL Group). The 1993-vintage ex-CanJet Airlines aircraft were acquired from Q Aviation in May/June 2008 and placed on lease to flyLAL.
SmartLynx leased an Airbus A320-200 (311) aircraft with CFM56-5A1 engines from KJ Aviation Services.
TAT Nigeria leased an A330-200 (822) aircraft with PW4168A engines from Eurofly. The 2007-vintage aircraft on lease from ILFC through 2014 was previously subleased to Israir.
Verseil Jet acquired a Bombardier CRJ-100ER (7159) aircraft with CF34-3A1 engines from Aero Management. The 1997-vintage aircraft was last operated by Comair.
World Airways leased a Boeing 747-400BDSF (48411) with CF6-80C2D1F engines from Tombo Aviation. The 1990-vintage aircraft was last operated by Gemini Air Cargo.
