Iran Air acquires first of three 747-300s

Iran Air has acquired the first of three Boeing 747-300s from Al Sayegh Airlines.

The 1986-vintage aircraft (MSN 23408), which is still in storage, has been registered in Gambia since February 2012.

Al Sayegh Airlines has two further 747-300s in its fleet (MSN 23224 and 23823), which are both in storage and scheduled to be sold to Iran Air in May this year, sources say. Flightglobal's Ascend Online database shows both aircraft as currently registered in Burkina Faso as XT-DMA and XT-SAG, respectively, having been operated until late 2010 by Centrafrique Air Express.

The three 747-300s, formerly operated by Qantas, were delivered to Al Sayegh Airlines in 2010.

Ak Bars Aero leased a Bombardier CRJ200 (7707) aircraft with CF34-3B1engines from Export Development Canada. The 2002-vintage aircraft was previously operated by MexicanaLink.

American Airlines purchased three Boeing MD-83 (49351, 49352, 49353) aircraft with JT8D-219 engines off lease from DFO Partnership. The 1987-vintage aircraft have been operated by American Airlines since new.

AAR Sales and Leasing acquired two Boeing 737-300 (25506, 25507) aircraft with CFM56-3B1 engines from Air China. The 1992-vintage aircraft were operated by Air China since new.

BLF (Bermuda) purchased a Boeing 737-500 (28907) aircraft with CFM56-3B1 engines from Continental Airlines in a deal arranged by Bristol Associates. The 1997-vintage aircraft was operated by Continental Airlines since new.

Commercial Aircraft Services purchased a Boeing 747-200SF (21783) aircraft with CF6-50E2 engines from Atlas Air. The 1979-vintage aircraft was acquired by Atlas Air in 1986.

DHL International wetleased a Boeing 777-200F (37988) aircraft with GE90-110B1L engines from Southern Air. The 2012-vintage aircraft is owned by Oakhill Capital Management.

Icelandair purchased a Boeing 757-200 (25295) aircraft with RB211-535E4 engines from American Airlines. The 1991-vintage aircraft was operated by American Airlines since new.

Jordan Aviation leased an Airbus A330-200 (073) aircraft with PW4168A engines from Penerbangan Malaysia Berhad. The 1995-vintage aircraft was operated by Malaysia Airlines since new.

Jordan Aviation leased an Airbus A330-200 (255) aircraft with PW4168A engines from AWAS. The 1999-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Vietnam Airlines.

Macquarie AirFinance purchased an Embraer 190 (1900282) aircraft with CF34-10E7 engines from Jetscape Aviation Group. The 2009-vintage aircraft has a lease attached to Azul.

North Cariboo Air purchased a BAE Systems 146-200 (E2140) aircraft with ALF502-R5 engines from Avmax Leasing. The 1989-vintage aircraft was last operated by Jazz.

Scaled Composites purchased a Boeing 747-400 (28716) aircraft with PW4056 engines from United Airlines. The 1997-vintage aircraft will be used to build the world's largest aircraft to serve as a mobile platform for low-cost satellite launches. The transaction was arranged by remarketing agent, Bristol Associates.

Stewart Industries purchased a Boeing MD-82 (49368) aircraft with JT8D-217A engines from American Airlines. The 1985-vintage aircraft has been operated by American Airlines since new.

Sunwing leased a Boeing 737-800 (33018) aircraft with CFM56-7B26 engines from CIT Leasing. The 2004-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Norwegian.

Turkmenistan Airlines leased a Bombardier CRJ700 (10032) aircraft with CF34-8C engines from GIE Mirabel Bail. The 2002-vintage aircraft was operated by Brit Air since new.

Transcarga International Airways wetleased an Airbus A300B4-200F (211) aircraft with CF6-50E2 engines from Sky Lease Cargo. The 1992-vintage aircraft was acquired by Sky Lease Cargo in 1985.

World Atlantic Airlines leased a Boeing MD-82 (49507) aircraft with JT8D-217A engines from Jetran International. The 1987-vintage ex-Spanair aircraft was acquired by Jetran from GECAS.
