THY sells remaining A310s to Ariana Airlines

THY Turkish Airlines has closed the sale of its remaining two Airbus A310-300 to Ariana Airlines.

Both aircraft (MSN 496, 497) were built in 1989 and powered by CF6-80C2A2 engines. They had been operated by THY since new.

Turkish Airlines says they will undergo C-checks before delivery in June to the Afghan carrier.

The sale completes the phase-out of the A310 passenger model at THY Turkish Airlines. The carrier sold six A310-200s to Iran Air and two A310-300s to Mahan Air while four other aircraft were converted last year into freighters.

Aires Columbia leased a Boeing 737-700 (29080) aircraft with CFM56-7B24 engines from Pembroke Group. The 1999-vintage aircraft was previously leased to Hamburg International Airlines.

Air Austral purchased 777-200ER (28676) aircraft with PW4090 engines off-lease from ILFC. The 1999-vintage aircraft was on a 10-year finance lease.

Almasria Universal Airlines leased an Airbus A320-200 (932) aircraft with V2527-A5 engines from BOC Aviation. The 1999-vintage aircraft was previously on lease to Kingfisher Airlines.

Arrow Air leased a Boeing 757-200PF (24868) aircraft with RB211-535E4 engines from AWAS. The 1990-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Far Eastern Air Transport.

Astraeus leased a Boeing 737-500 (27355) aircraft with CFM56-3C1 engines from GECAS for a period of three years. The 1994-vintage aircraft was previously operated by British Airways.

Batavia Air leased an Airbus A320-200 (168) with V2500-A1 engines from Aviation Capital Group. The 1991-vintage was previously operated by Air India.

Uzbekistan Airways acquired two Airbus A300B4-600RF freighters (717, 722) aircraft with PW4158 engines from Korean Air. The 1993-vintage aircraft had been operated by Korean Air since new.

Elite Air wetleased an Airbus A320-200 (1896) aircraft with V2527-A5 engines from Bluewings. The 2002-vintage aircraft was purchased by Bluewings in May 2008 from JetBlue Airways.

FedEx acquired a Boeing 757-200 (24924) aircraft with RB211-535E4 engines from AWAS. The 1990-vintage aircraft which was previously operated by Astraeus will be converted into cargo.

Garuda Indonesia leased a Boeing 737-800 (29930) aircraft with CFM56-7B24 engines from CIT Aerospace. The 2000-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Ryanair.

Gulf Air leased an Airbus A330-200 (527) aircraft with Trent 772B-60 engines from ILFC. The 2003-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Middle East Airlines.

Norwegian Air Shuttle leased a new Boeing 737-800 (37159) aircraft with CFM56-7B26 engines from ILFC.

Rossiya leased an Airbus A320-200 (1767) aircraft with CFM56-5B4/P engines from Genesis Lease. The 2002-vintage aircraft was last operated by Lotus Air.

Skyservice leased an Airbus A320-200 (496) aircraft with V2527-A5 engines from ILFC. The 1994-vintage aircraft was previously operated by LTE International Airways.

Strategic Airlines leased two Airbus A320-200 (420, 436) aircraft with CFM56-5A3 engines from AerCap. Both 1993-vintage aircraft were previously on lease to Aerolineas Argentinas. The first aircraft is expected in June 2009 while the second is planned in July.

Syrian Pearl subleased two BAE Systems 146-300 (3179, 3295) aircraft with ALF502-R engines from Orion Air. The 1990/91-vintage aircraft were last operated by Ansett Australia.

TES Aviation purchased an Airbus A300-600F (533) aircraft with PW4158 engines for part out. The 1989-vintage aircraft was last operated by Galaxy Airlines.

Thomsonfly subleased an Airbus A320-200 (1605) aircraft with CFM56-5B4/P engines from Skyservice. The 2001-vintage aircraft is owned by Orix Aviation.

Toumai Air Tchad subleased a Boeing 737-300 (23630) aircraft with CFM56-3B1 engines from Jordan Aviation. The 1986-vintage aircraft was last operated by America West Airlines.

TUI Travel sold two new Boeing 737-800 (35146, 35147) aircraft with CFM56-7B26/3 engines to Babcock & Brown Aircraft Management and leased them back for a period of eight years.

Transavia Airlines subleased a Boeing 737-800 (32348) aircraft with CFM56-7B27 engines from GOL Transportes Aereos. The 2001-vintage aircraft is leased by GECAS.

Webjet agreed to lease three Boeing 737-300 (28590, 28660, 29327) aircraft with CFM56-3C1 engines from Aviation Capital Group. The first aircraft, a 1999-vintage, is currently operated by Centralwings while the second and third aircraft, built in 1997 and 1998 are currently operated by Thomsonfly.
