Avolon completes GECAS portfolio acquisition

Avolon has completed the nine-aircraft GECAS portfolio acquisition with the final aircraft transfer earlier this month.

The Irish-based operating lessor closed the A320/737-800 acquisition in December. A total of seven Boeing 737-800s have leases attached to American Airlines, Flydubai, GOL Linhas Aereas, SpiceJet and Skymark Airlines. The two A320s are on lease to Air Berlin and Indigo.

The two A320s are powered by different engines. MSN 4013 is a 2009-vintage aircraft on lease to Air Berlin. MSN 4518 is November 2010 delivery powered by V2527-A5 engines and on lease to Indigo.

Six of the seven 737-800s are on lease to low cost carriers. Avolon has three October-November 2017 deliveries (MSNs 34268, 34269, 34271) equipped with CFM56-7B27 engines on lease through 2017 to GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes.

A July 2007 delivery (MSN 35216) is on lease to SpiceJet through 2015, according to Flightglobal's ACAS database while MSN 35630, a July 2008 delivery is on lease to Skymark Airlines. Another aircraft, MSN 40234, was first placed on lease to Flydubai in June 2009. The last 737-800 is MSN 31071, a July 2007 aircraft on lease to American Airlines through 2017.

Air Lease Corp. is acquiring three 1996/97-vintage Boeing 767-300ER aircraft (MSNs 28148, 28149, 28264) aircraft as part of a deal covering new aircraft worth almost $700 million signed with China Eastern Airlines. Under the terms of the agreements, ALC placed 10 new Airbus A320-200s and five new Boeing 737-800s, for deliveries in 2012 and 2013 on long term leases. Two 1996-vintage 767-300ER (MSNs 28148, 28149) have been placed under lease with MIAT Mongolian Airlines for delivery in May and November 2011, while the remaining aircraft is subject to a lease to Orient Thai Airlines for delivery in August.

Air Lease Corp. purchased an Airbus A320 (1686) aircraft with CFM56-5B4/P engines from Aviation Capital Group. The 2002-vintage aircraft has a lease attached to Spring Airlines.

AlNaser Airlines leased a Boeing 737-400 aircraft (25765) aircraft with CFM56-3C1 engines from Jetran International. The 1992-vintage aircraft was sold last December by AerCo to Jetran International for approximately $2.0 million. According to Flightglobal ACAS datase, it was last operated by Sundowner.

Anex Tour leased two Boeing 757-200 (26268, 26271) aircraft with PW2037 engines from ILFC. Both 1994-vintage aircraft were previously operated by SunExpress.

Caspiy leased a Fokker F100 (11371) aircraft with Tay 650-15 engines from Jetran International. The 1992-vintage aircraft was previously operated by MexicanaClick.

Comair leased a Boeing 737-800 (28382) aircraft with CFM56-7B26 engines from Sumisho Aircraft Asset Management. The 1999-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Air Europe.

InterJet leased an Airbus A320-200 (707) aircraft with CFM56-5B4/P engines from Wells Fargo Bank Northwest NA Trustee as trustee. The 1997-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Air China.

Khors Air acquired three Boeing MD88 (53546, 53547, 53549) aircraft with JT8D-219 engines from Onur Air. The 1197-vintage aircraft were operated by Onur Air since new.

Orenburg Airlines leased Boeing 737-800 (32735) aircraft with CFM56-7B26 engines from GECAS. The 2002-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Pegasus Airlines.

Sky Lease Cargo leased a Boeing MD-11F (48498) aircraft with PW4460 engines from GECAS. The 1992-vintage aircraft was previously operated by China Cargo Airlines.

Sun Country Airlines leased a Boeing 737-800 (30623) equipped with CFM56-7B24 engines from CIT Aerospace. The 2002-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Virgin Blue Airlines.

Taban Air subleased a Boeing MD83 (53549) aircraft with JT8D-219 engines from Bukyvona Airlines. The 1987-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Onur Air.

Ural Airlines leased an Airbus A320-200 (1751) aircraft with CFM56-5B4/P engines from GECAS. The 2002-vintage aircraft was previously leased to Air Jamaica.

Viking Hellas leased an Airbus A320-200 (415) aircraft with V2500-A1 engines from Wells Fargo Bank Northwest NA Trustee as trustee. The 1994-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Star Airways.

Volaris leased an Airbus A320-200 (415) aircraft with V2527-A5 engines from Amentum Capital. The 2008-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Mandala Airlines.

Yakutia Airlines leased a Boeing 737-700 (30271) aircraft with CFM56-7B20 engines from Aviation Capital Group. The 2001-vintage aircraft was previously leased to Air Berlin.
