UK low-cost carrier Jet2's flights are to remain at Belfast International Airport but will switch to an alternative, shorter runway.
Jet2 had intended to suspend operations at the airport, and transfer to Belfast City, citing concerns that runway surfacing work was behind a series of incidents involving its aircraft.
But it has agreed with Belfast International's operator to remain at the airport. From 10 April, however, it will use the shorter runway 17/35 rather than the main runway 07/25.
Jet2 says its decision follows consultation with the airport and a "detailed safety assessment".
"Safety of our customers is of paramount importance," it adds. "We will not operate from Belfast International Airport's main runway until the resurfacing has finished."
