JetBlue is making a new push from LaGuardia and Washington National airports beginning in June.
From LaGuardia JetBlue is introducing flights to three destinations in Florida - Fort Myers, Sarasota and Tampa. The airline is operating a single daily flight to Sarasota and Fort Myers and two daily services to Tampa.
Schedules in Innovata show JetBlue faces no competition from LaGuardia to Sarasota, but is competing with Delta in both the Fort Myers and Tampa markets. US Airways also offers one-stop service from LaGuardia to Tampa and Fort Myers, while American offers one-stop flights to Tampa.
The carrier is also bolstering flights from LaGuardia to Orlando with two additional daily flights and a single flight to both Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach.
JetBlue also plans to launch new single daily roundtrip flights from Washington National to Tampa in June, competing with US Airways.
Beginning in June, from Washington National to Boston Jetblue is expanding it high frequency service by three daily roundtrips for a total of 10, and is adding two additional daily flights to both Fort Lauderdale and Orlando.
JetBlue is also doubling its LaGuardia-National flights by eight roundtrips to 16. The carrier stated the growth was made possible by two sets of eight slot pairs it bought for each airport during an auction held late last year. The auction was a requirement for US Airways and Delta to gain approval for a slot swap at the two airports.
