JetBlue has completed a test in conjunction with Aviation Partners (API) with winglets on a single Airbus A320.

The aircraft, N556JB, completed seven days of testing off the coast of southern California beginning on 15 January.

During a presentation today at the Raymond James Growth Airline conference JetBlue treasurer Mark Powers said now that testing is complete, "API will tell us the results. It's obviously something that could be found on future airplanes".

Airbus in November of 2009 unveiled plans to offer "sharklets" on new-build A320 family aircraft starting in 2012. At the time the airframer said it was working with API to provide a simpler design on existing A320 aircraft.
