New York-based JetBlue Airways is continuing its ramp-up at Fort Lauderdale with the addition of non-stop destinations Montego Bay and Punta Cana from 1 May 2014.
The carrier will operate daily on both routes, it says. With the two new destinations, the airline expects to offer 29 non-stop routes and more than 70 daily flights from Fort Lauderdale on peak days, says JetBlue's chief executive Dave Barger in a statement.
JetBlue had previously announced daily flights from Fort Lauderdale to Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago which will also start on 1 May 2014.
The airline will compete against Spirit Airlines and Caribbean Airlines on Fort Lauderdale-Montego Bay, schedules in Innovata show. It will have no competition on the Punta Cana route.
