JetBlue PRASM up 3% in August

JetBlue Airways has reported a 3% increase in passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) in August compared with the same period of the previous year.

Passenger traffic grew 13.1%, while capacity was up 12.8% year-on-year during the month.

The load factor increased 0.3 percentage points to 87.6% and passenger numbers rose 15.3% to 2.8 million, says the airline.

On a year-to-date basis, passenger traffic rose 11.6% and capacity grew 8.7% compared to 2011.

The load factor increased 2.1 percentage points to 85% while passenger numbers rose 12% to 19.8 million, the airline adds.
