JetBlue sees slower unit revenue gains in June

JetBlue Airways posted year-over-year traffic gains in June, but recorded slower unit revenue growth than it has earlier in the quarter.

The New York-based carrier estimated that its passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) for June was approximately 8% higher than it was one year ago. JetBlue had previously estimated 13% and 19% increases in April and May, respectively.

During June the airline saw its traffic increase 7.2% year-over-year while capacity grew 10.0%. As a result, load factor declined 2.1 points to 82.1%. The airline reported a 0.8 point decrease in load factor in April and a 1.3 point increase in May.
